Luxury Vehicles

The 2007 Audi allroad quattro Midsize Wagon is the bottom gray car. Audi knows that it's aiming for a small niche with the next generation allroad, but if it can make a profit on this low volume off roader more power to it.What I Know: Despite the addition of the Q7 SUV to its lineup, Audi has decided that it will build a next generation 2007 allroad to round out its portfolio. Introduced in concept form at the 2005 Detroit Auto Show, this upscale station wagon will continue to provide all-wheel capability along with greater ground clearance and a hardier suspension than the A6 Avant on which it's based. Styling is expected to remain true to the concept with Audi signature shield leading the way. The 2007 allroad Quattro will share its 3.2-liter FSi and 4.2-liter V8 engines with the A6, and there is some speculation that the American versions of the car might be available with a turbodiesel V8. Expect the 2007 Audi allroad Quattro to cost around $50k when it goes on sale in 2006.

The 2008 BMW M3 Compact Coupe is the Black Car in the snow. Eight-cylinder power finally makes its way to the M3, but with more competition than ever before it's going to need more than just extra displacement to stay ahead of the game. What I Know: Now that the 3 Series sedan is in full production, BMW will be turning its attention to the next version of the 3 Series coupe, the most anticipated version being the high performance M3. With so most of its competitors now using V8 power, the M3 is expected to add a couple cylinders as well. Power will come from an all-new 4.0-liter V8 with roughly 400 horses and a quick-shifting SMG transmission. No word yet on whether it will incorporate some of BMW's more advanced features like Active Steering and Active Roll Stability, but its going to need all the help it can get with a car like Audi's RS4 to contend with. Expect to see it debut sometime next year.

The 2007 Audi TT Compact Coupe is the light blue car. This will be a tricky update for Audi given the TT's unique styling, but improved guts underneath should make it competitive regardless of what it looks like.
What I Know: Although it still looks good after all these years, the TT is headed for a complete redesign in 2006. Altering the look of a car that depends so heavily on styling for its appeal is always tricky so expect an evolutionary design update that doesn't stray too far from the original. It's expected to share a platform with the A3 and will continue with a mix of four- and six-cylinder powerplants.

The 2008 BMW M3 Compact Coupe is the black car.Eight-cylinder power finally makes its way to the M3, but with more competition than ever before it's going to need more than just extra displacement to stay ahead of the game.

The 2007 Cadillac Escalade Large SUV is the black SUV.There's nothing more difficult than following up a surprise hit, but if Cadillac can do it twice in a row the Escalade could go down as one of the most popular SUVs ever. What I Know: When style is one of your main selling points you can't afford to get stale. Cadillac is currently readying an all-new Escalade that will debut in early 2006, taking the vehicle's trademark style a step further with all-new sheet metal, a redesigned fascia, unique doors and front fender vents, and a brand-new interior with LED-lit instrument panels. New features for the 2007 Escalade will include standard StabiliTrak with anti-rollover technology, new four-wheel disc brakes with improved ABS, a power-assisted rear liftgate, power fold-and-tumble second-row seats, larger DVD screens, navigation systems, Generation 6 OnStar, and roof-mounted head curtain side airbags with tethers for all three seating rows. In addition to these new standard appointments, the Escalade will also sport unique High-Intensity Discharge headlights and standard 18-inch wheels, with mammoth 22-inch wheels available as an option. Additionally, the 2007 Escalade's interior will be more luxurious than that of any of its kin and platform mates. Sadly, the anticipated V12 will not see the light of day on the 2007 Escalade, with power-greedy owners having to settle for a top-of-the-line 400-hp, 6.2-liter V8 instead. In addition to the extra power, the new V8 will be more efficient thanks to the application of Variable Valve Timing and Displacement on Demand cylinder deactivation. The standard 2007 Escalade comes out in the first quarter of 2006, with the ESV and EXT versions of the vehicle due out later in the year.

The 2007 Lincoln Aviator Midsize SUV is the White SUV.With a brand-new platform, the Aviator will be refashioned as more of a sport wagon in order to compete with the likes of the Lexus RX 330.What I Know: Initial reports that Ford would drop the Lincoln Aviator from its lineup in 2005 were only partially true: yes, the Aviator will no longer be manufactured in its current form after July of this year. The vehicle will reappear in the fall of 2006 as a sport wagon instead of a traditional SUV. The next generation of the Aviator will share its underpinnings with the Mazda 6 rather than borrowing the Ford Explorer's platform. With such a major change made to the foundation of the vehicle, it should be no surprise that the 2007 Aviator will look a great deal different than the contemporary model. Despite its completely revised package, though, the Aviator will feature all-wheel drive and large wheels and tires. It's also believed that Ford will power the vehicle with a new 250-horsepower-capable 3.5-liter V6, which it will share with the upcoming Ford Edge midsize crossover, among others. This engine will be paired with Ford's new 6F six-speed manual transmission, which will enhance both performance and fuel economy.

More Ahead

I'll still be adding more info. on cars ounce in awhile.

The New Trucks

The Trucks this coming year are going to be new and redisigned, especially the Toyota Tundra. The trucks are coming out in a variety from Chevrolet to GMC.

The 2007 Ford Explorer Sport Trac Compac Truck is the red truck in the pictures. After years of riding on the "old" Explorer hardware the Sport Trac finally gets the modern equipment it needs to compete. What I Know: Even though Ford regards the 2007 Explorer Sport Trac as being a cross between the 2006 Explorer and an F-150, this fully-redesigned vehicle will add an entirely different element to the equation with an optional 4.6-liter V8 and 6R transmission borrowed from the Mustang. Another item making its way to the 2007 Explorer Sport Trac via customer pleas are a set of 18-inch wheels. In addition to the welcome machismo of these features, the Explorer Sport Trac has also gained a completely new interior and exterior to go along with its new frame, which it shares with the 2006 Explorer. The 2007 Sport Trac is now 2 inches wider and 5 inches longer which should ensure better handling. Storage room will be further increased through a 30-percent augmentation of the cargo bed.Independent rear suspension has also been carried over from the latter model to the Explorer Sport Trac. Powered by a standard 210-horsepower 4.0-liter V6, the 2007 Explorer Sport Trac will also feature a corrosion-proof 4 ½ foot cargo box, AdvanceTrac, and Roll Stability Control in addition to such optional features as heated seats, a heated windshield, a locking hard tonneau, and a tubular aluminum cargo cage that can be pulled out and used to extend the cargo bed.

The 2007 Toyota Tundra Large Truck is the Blue Truck. If Nissan's Titan is any indication, the Big Three should be very worried about the next Tundra. What I Know: Although the current Tundra enjoys brisk sales due to its refined ride and easy-to-drive demeanor, Toyota knows that in order to compete with the big boys it needs a bigger truck. The next-generation Tundra will be a full-size truck in every respect, with a larger V8 power plant and comparable dimensions to Detroit's biggest and best. The FTX concept truck shown at the 2004 Detroit Auto Show was a preview of what Toyota has in mind. Its outlandish size and styling may get toned down a bit for the production truck, but there's no doubt who Toyota is targeting. In fact, Toyota is so intent on building a credible truck, it's constructing an all-new plant in San Antonio, Texas, to build it.

New & Redesigned Sedans

This post starts with pictures first and then discriptions on the bottom.

Theirs so many cars coming out this 2006-2007. Their is big variety to choose from, theirs Pontiac, Honda, Chrysler, Toyota, Nissan, and much more.

The Audi RS4 Compact Sedan is the Blue car in the pictures. As if the V8-powered S4 wasn't enough already, Audi goes for the throat with this even more powerful compact four-door.What I Know: With a 4.2-liter V8 under its newly reshaped nose, the RS4 is the new undisputed king of compact sport sedans. Consider that its normally aspirated direct-injection eight-cylinder cranks out 414 horsepower, 311 pound-feet of torque and doesn't hit the redline until 8,250 rpm. Then factor in its standard six-speed manual, self-locking Torsen center differential and driver-adjustable throttle control and you've got a Euro sedan that will wipe the asphalt with an M3. Additional upgrades include a recalibrated suspension that lowers the car just over an inch, wider front and rear tracks, a heavy dose of bodywork and unique double-spoke wheels. All RS4s also get Audi's Dynamic Ride Control system and a pair of 14.3-inch brake rotors up front for stopping power that can put you through the windshield if you sneeze the wrong way. Interior changes are minimal, but effective. The sport steering wheel looks like it came straight out of Audi's Le Mans prototype thanks to its unique shape and metallic trim. The flat-bottomed wheel also puts the driver-adjustable throttle control right at the tips of your fingers. A starter button, metallic pedals and lightweight sport seats with inflatable side bolsters round out the cabin upgrades.

The Honda Fit Compact Sedan is the Tan Car in the pictures. Honda is going to need more than just a low price to compete against Scion's distinctively-styled products. What I Know: Honda officially announced at the Detroit auto show that it will begin selling a smaller, less expensive model below the current Civic. Designed to go head-to-head with the likes of the Scion xA and other sub-$15,000 compacts, Honda's new model is likely to be a version of the Fit hatchback currently sold in Japan. This front-wheel-drive vehicle, powered by a 1.5-liter direct injection engine, will be aimed at young buyers when it appears in early 2006.

The 2007 Lexus GS 450h Midsize Sedan is the Silver-Blue car in the pictures. Are performance and environmentalism no longer mutually exclusive? What I Know: Lexus' upcoming luxury sedan is the world's first front-engine, rear-wheel-drive hybrid. At the heart of the vehicle is an all-new powertrain, which features a 3.5-liter V6 and a high-output electric motor, together, which are said to be capable of more than 300 horsepower and 0-to-60 acceleration in less than 6 seconds. Lexus is claiming that the miles-per-gallon consumption is in the high-20s. The only way in which the hybrid version will be distinguishable from the regular GS 450 is through the addition of special 18-inch alloy wheels and a power meter, which replaces the tachometer. The GS 450h goes on sale in the spring of 2006.

The 2007 Toyota Yaris Compact Sedan is the Dirty-Blue car in the pictures. The Yaris nameplate has been familiar to nearly all of Toyota's worldwide customers, except those in North America- a situation that is about to change. What I Know: In a lineup of surefire market favorites, the Echo always stood out as being one of the least-enticing of Toyota's vehicles, which is why the company will replace it with the Yaris for the 2007 model year. The Toyota Yaris has long distinguished itself overseas as a popular budget car, and the company has finally decided that its phasing out of the Echo will create a suitable place in its portfolio for this economical hatchback. The 2007 Yaris will no doubt be sold to the American public on the basis of its ample standard safety features, which include side-impact airbags, ABS with BrakeAssist, curtain airbags, and even a driver's knee airbag. For a vehicle of its size, the Yaris will also feature an impressive 25 cubic feet of storage space. The safety amenities will likely come at a price, with the Yaris likely to feature a small four-cylinder engine when it arrives in the U.S, which is bound to be economical of fuel and obstinate in terms of passing power. Other intriguing features could include a center-mounted instrument panel which allows space for three separate glove compartments on the dash, along with Smart Entry and push-button Start systems.

The 2007 Nissan Altima Midsize Hybrid is the one above the Yaris.Mix Toyota technology with Nissan style and the result is a good looking family sedan that gets outstanding mileage. What I Know: Prototypes are currently in circulation of this vehicle, which is slated to appear in the fall of 2006 as a 2007 model. Rather than developing its own hybrid engine, Nissan has instead licensed the system used on the Prius by Toyota. The engine and electric motor are both Nissan's own, though. The gasoline engine is the 2.5-liter I-4 four-cylinder DOHC that is found on the regular Altima. The four-cylinder will be paired under the hood with a 100kw electric motor. Horsepower between the two engines is believed to register around the 200 mark. The Altima can be driven by either of the engines on their own, or a combination of both. Other features include a continuously variable transmission and regenerative braking. The estimated base price is expected to be about $25,000.

The 2007 Hyundai Accent Compact Sedan is the Silver car. Even though it will share parts with the latest Kia Rio, the 2006 Accent will definitely retain a "Hyundai" sort of flavor. What I Know: As part of a major product offensive that will take place over the next two years, Korea's top auto manufacturer will redesign its redoubtable entry-level compact. The 2006 Accent will borrow its underpinnings and other internal details from the next-generation Kia Rio, although the two are certainly distinct from one another in terms of surface appearance. The Accent will receive a new engine in the form of a 1.6-liter double-overhead-cam inline four-cylinder, which produces about 110-horsepower. This incredibly clean engine is expected to receive an Ultra Low Emission Vehicle certificate from the E.P.A. A five-speed manual transmission comes standard, with a four-speed automatic available as an option. Based on the dimensions of the 2006 Rio, which debuted at the 2005 NAIAS, the new Accent will be two inches longer and a full three inches taller than the current version. Aesthetically, the Accent will take its cues from the E3 concept which appeared in Geneva in 2004. Hyundai has planned a tentative release date in the second half of 2005 for the Accent, with a base price of $9999 roughly in place for the four-door GLS version. Expect to see a three-door wagon variant of the Accent some time after the release of the sedan.

The 2006 Hyundai Azera Midsize Sedan is the Gray car.The Azera will likely prove that Hyundai is a force that can reckon with the Japanese. What I Know: Hyundai will be replacing the XG350 with the Azera, a midlevel luxury sedan that should fit nicely into the company's lineup alongside the reconstituted Sonata. Slightly longer, taller and wider than the XG, the Azera also features a more powerful and fuel-efficient engine than its predecessor. In the U.S., the vehicle will be equipped exclusively with a 3.8-liter V6 capable of about 265-horsepower and a five-speed automatic transmission- this combination is a brand-new powertrain for the company. In addition to this welcome engine refreshment, the Azera also features a truly elegant interior that outdoes the best efforts of many Japanese rivals. Other standard features on this front-wheel-drive sedan include Electronic Stability Control, leather seats, a power rear sunshade, dual zone climate controls, and 17-inch wheels and tires. Having made its worldwide debut at the 2005 Geneva Motor Show as the Grandeur, the Azera will go on sale in the U.S. at the end of this year, starting under $30,000.

The 2006 Lexus IS Compact Sedan is the one above the Azera. Lexus clearly had one goal in mind with this car and if it drives as good as it looks the IS could give the 3 Series, and every other sedan in the segment, some serious competition. What I Know: Introduced to the world in Geneva, the all-new 2006 Lexus IS sport sedan's homing device is clearly beaming on the hearts and minds of one vehicle's buyer: the BMW 3 Series. In the U.S., the IS will come in three flavors: the IS 250, the IS 250 AWD and the IS 350. Both IS 250 models will use a 2.5-liter V6 with just over 200 horsepower while the IS 350 gets a 3.5-liter V6 engine that will deliver 306 hp. The standard transmission in the IS 250 will be a six-speed manual. The IS 250 AWD and IS 350 get a six-speed sequential shift automatic transmission as standard. All IS sedans will offer wider and longer dimensions, more rear legroom, sweeter amenities and more safety features over the current IS at a price that's comparable. The base IS 250 will use a traditional stability control system while the IS 350 gets a version of the Vehicle Dynamics Integrated Management (VDIM) introduced in the new GS sedan. In addition to its improved performance, the new IS will also offer plenty of high-end feature content. Keyless ignition, power tilt and telescoping steering wheel and a navigation system with a rear backup camera are just a few examples. Other notable options will include adaptive headlights, radar cruise control and ventilated seats. The IS will go on sale this October, with prices expected to start around $30,000.

The 2009 Porshe Panamera Large Sedan is the one above the Lexus IS.Building a sedan might seem like Porsche is stretching beyond its limits, but the Cayenne's success proves that it can build more than just sports cars. What I Know: The speculation is over as the 2008 Porsche Panamera has been given the official green light. Indeed, the Porsche Panamera has been approved for production in Leipzig, alongside the Cayenne SUV and the feisty Carrera GT, beginning in 2008. The Panamera could very well be powered from a modified version of the Cayenne's V8, which will be laid out in the front of the vehicle. Porsche plans on selling the vehicle in quantities of 20,000 annually. Contrary to industry gossip, Porsche will not be venturing into a partnership with a sponsoring manufacturer to develop the Panamera, choosing instead to build the vehicle on a unique rear-wheel-drive chassis of its own creation.

(more sedans coming soon)
